Born in Cordoba, Spain as Francisco Peña Pérez, he moved to London in the late 1960s where he quickly becomes immensely popular, leading to concerts at Wigmore, in the Royal Albert Hall in London, in the Carnegie Hall in New York City and the Concert Hall in Amsterdam. Later, he founded the world's first course for flamenco guitar at the Rotterdam Conservatory.
